MY BIO:

For more than a decade, Sandra D. Bricker lived in Los Angeles. While honing her chosen craft of screenwriting in every spare moment, she worked as a personal assistant and publicist to some of daytime television's hottest stars. When her mother became ill in Florida, she walked away from that segment of her life and moved across the country to take on a new role: Caregiver.

"I guess most people would see my career as a publicist as a sort of dream job. But giving it up turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me!" she declares. "Not only was I given the gift of getting to know my mother as an adult woman before she passed away, but I was also afforded the blessing of being able to focus completely on my dream of a writing career."

One of Sandie's passions revolves around the rights of animals. She's been involved in fundraising for various causes close to her heart for several years now; in fact, a portion of the proceeds of Love Finds You in Holiday, Florida went to help the non-profit group that connected her with her current companion, a free-spirited orange collie named Sophie.

In addition, Sandie's real-life role as cancer survivor has parlayed into her steadfast commitment to raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Spearheading a series of devotionals for Summerside Press (such as the popular His Grace is Sufficient...Decaf is Not), the author has stipulated that a portion of each contributor's proceeds will go to the
Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Sandie says that it was her 8th novel that opened the door to finding her way as a writer. "I'm a Christian woman, first and foremost," she says. "So it was a bit of a dream-come-true when Summerside Press chose me as one of two authors to launch the new Love Finds You line."

Love Finds You in Snowball, Arkansas is a romantic comedy, Sandie's first foray into the inspirational market. The novel delivered the best reviews of her career, not to mention finaling in three readers' choice awards in 2009.

Love Finds You in Holiday, Florida and Be Still ... and Let Your Nail Polish Dry (a devotional co-written with three other authors) were released in December 2009.

The Big 5-OH! was released by Abingdon Press in the spring of 2010, and the novel was very well-received.

Love Finds You in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, another offering in Summerside's Love Finds You line of books, was released in the fall of 2010. This particular novel combines three of the author's greatest loves: The Pacific Coast, classic film and animal rescue.

Always the Baker, Never the Bride, released by Abingdon Press in September 2010, garnered phenomenal reviews and spawned a series of three more novels based on the popular cast of characters at The Tanglewood Inn, a wedding destination hotel in historic Roswell, Georgia. This series has cemented Sandie's spot in publishing as a flagship author of Laugh-Out-Loud Romantic Comedy for the Inspirational Market.

"Being allowed to combine my faith and my humor with my writing dream," says Bricker, "well, that's the best of all worlds, as far as I'm concerned!"
